Amateur driving have been part of harness racing since the sport's inception.
Anyone that has the desire and ability can be an amateur driver. Today's club members are
engineers, computer professionals, lawyers, nurses, cab drivers, teachers, bakers, etc..

New England Amateur Harness Drivers Club (NEAHDC) was formed in 2001, and in July of
2002 conducted its first matinee race. NEAHDC has since expanded its racing schedule to
include its first amateur pari-mutual race conducted on May 22, 2004!



Events


-NEAHDC will continue to offer amateur matinee
and pari-mutual amateur racing at
Plainridge Racecourse

-All races are conducted in accordance with USTA
and Mass State Racing Commission Rules

-Drivers must meet the USTA requirements for amateur status.

-To participate in club races, the driver must hold
an "M" or higher driving license from the USTA for matinee races
A license of "P" or higher must be held for the parimutuel races.

Club Dues
Annual dues are $25.00.
The dues are for May 1, 2007 thru April 30, 2008
The club is non-profit and the dues will be used to pay legal,
race premiums and other administrative costs.
